Australia collect the London Rugby Sevens trophy after beating South Africa 19-14

In a thrilling and fast paced final, Australia snatched a 19-14 win from South Africa to take the London leg of the international Rugby Sevens tournament.

Run over 2 days, the tournament included teams from as far afield as Fiji and Kenya. The Kenyans fast became the crowd favourites, and scored a very popular win in the Shield final against France with a try in added time by Victor Sudi Simiyu.

Try of the day has to go to Albert Valentin of France who cartwheeled over the goal line to ground the ball and followed it up with a somersault just to make sure, beating Italy in the Shield semi-final into the bargain.

On a baking hot day, sun tan lotion was the order of the day, most of whom removed the majority of their clothing as the day progressed. The RFU created a fantastic party atmosphere with pumping music and on-pitch entertainment to keep the fans on their feet.

Unfortunately England exited at the Cup semi-finals stage but a huge 60,000 plus crowd hung on to watch as the southern hemishphere nations battled in the final.
